Earth BioGenome Project survey on sample storage and processing

Please help the EBP Sample Collection and Processing Subcommittee gather information on best practices for High Molecular Weight DNA Extraction across diverse taxa. Links to each of the surveys – depending on taxonomic group – can be found below.

Why are we carrying out this survey?

The Earth BioGenome Project Committee on Sample Collection and Processing is at the early stages of producing a guidance document on Best Practice sample preservation for generating high quality reference genomes for Animals, Plants, Fungi, and Protists.

We are also interested in Second-Best Practice sample preservation for situations where one might not have access to a freezer or dry ice shipments. We are surveying members of the community who have experience in High Molecular Weight DNA extraction from diverse taxa on their successes, failures, and desires to better understand the range of approaches that do work. This survey also asks about tissue preservation for Hi-C and for RNA, and whether you have experience with preservation protocols that support all three data types (long read, Hi-C, RNAseq).

Your answers may be used as part of the document that the subcommittee generates, and we may have further questions for you, so if you would be willing to participate beyond this survey, please also provide your name and email address in the relevant fields at the end of the survey. Thank you.
